Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital
Infrastructure (BMVI)
The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) is a supreme federal authority of the
Federal Republic of Germany with subordinate authorities. It is headquartered in Berlin and has its second
seat in Bonn. At the head of the ministry is the Federal Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure,
who is supported by three parliamentary state secretaries and two state secretaries. Tasks include the
performance of departmental tasks in the fields of mobility of people, goods and data. The ministry is
divided into eight departments.
In the Department of Road Construction, StB12 (road traffic control, resting areas) was commissioned to
carry out the C-ITS Corridor project.

Federal Highway Research Institute
(BASt)
The Federal Highway Research Institute is a technical and scientific research institute of the Ministry of
Transport and digital infrastructure in Bergisch Gladbach. The ministry ensures the safety, environmental
compatibility, profitability and performance of the roads. It is involved in the development of regulations
and standards in all areas of road construction, and it coordinates research projects.
The units V5 (Traffic Control) and F5 (Networked Mobility) support the C-ITS Corridor Project
personnel.

Hessen Mobil
Hessen Mobil is responsible for the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of the superior road
network in Hesse. In the field of traffic management, Hessen Mobil has developed a pioneering role through
many projects and innovations in the field of intelligent traffic control. Thanks to this expertise, Hessen
Mobil has been driving the development, testing and implementation of cooperative systems as well as
applications of networked and automated transport together with partners from industry and science for many
years.
In the C-ITS Corridor project Hessen Mobil, on behalf of BMVI, is leading the development of the roadside
cooperative infrastructure as well as the cooperative headquarters, carries out testing in the Hessian
test field and thus creates the basis for the subsequent rollout of the systems in the corridor
countries.
